Girls

Photographing girls is always a treat, especially pre-teens. They like to pretend they are models and usually that works well for me. Here are a couple shots of Billi and Lex during their "shoot".

Alexa 11 years

This photo shoot went amazingly well, but then photographing Alexa always does.

Lilly

I also had fun trying to get co-operation from Lilly for a pretty pose, but in the end, the old candid method worked for a couple of amazing shots.

Billi K

Photographing Billi was amazingly easy. She took an active role in directing her own shots and establishing her own poses.

Color Vs. Black and White

I often take photos and play with different color options. This way I can decide whether I like them better in color or black and white. Usually it's easy to choose, for one "pops" and the other doesn't.

Close Up

Another favorite way to capture a child's beauty for me is with close-ups. With children, I don't feel you can ever get to close to capture the remarkable beauty that makes children's pictures so desirable.

Natural Light

I love to use natural light when taking pictures of children, especially black and white pictures. I feel that natural light, captures the beauty of a child better than any flash or artificial lighting can.

In this photo, I used only the sunlight coming in from the window and was very pleased with the results.
