Winter Has Arrived

Ahh yes, winter has arrived and the glory of snow and cold is here to stay, at least for a few months.

Kids are so much fun for capturing facial expressions!!

Summer Fun

This Summer we had so much fun, I took so many photos, that I just haven't had time to get caught up with posting the wonderful pictures that were taken!

I loved this location, with the water falling behind us, Logan though wasn't too fond of it, since there were much more interesting things to do instead of pose for a picture or two.

Accessories

I love using accessories such as hats when taking photos.

Girls

Photographing girls is always a treat, especially pre-teens. They like to pretend they are models and usually that works well for me. Here are a couple shots of Billi and Lex during their "shoot".

Alexa 11 years

This photo shoot went amazingly well, but then photographing Alexa always does.

Lilly

I also had fun trying to get co-operation from Lilly for a pretty pose, but in the end, the old candid method worked for a couple of amazing shots.

Gracie

The only way to effectively capture Gracie was to capture her candidly, without her knowledge. At Two, she preferred to play with me and run away, rather than pose and smile. All in all, this picture turned out far better than I had hoped. Thankfully her mom liked it too!

Emmalynn

Another toddler and another set of unique circumstances made this photo shoot very limited! However, it presented a couple of photos that captured the two-year olds glory!

Billi K

Photographing Billi was amazingly easy. She took an active role in directing her own shots and establishing her own poses.

The Park

Taking Photos at the park can present very unique opportunities to capture children at the innocence and beauty that only they posses. These pictures while not always "picture perfect" can offer an opportunity to show children in their true form and allow their personalities to come through.

Baby Beauty

Both of these pictures represent well the beauty of babies, in two completely different ways.

Wonder

Wonder and amazement are traits common with all children. Capturing that and getting a worthy shot can be a chore. But when it's captured, it's well worth the effort to get the shot.

Magic

Sometimes magic happens when least expected while photographing children, you just don't know what's going to happen.

In the above series of photos, I was able to capture this two-week old newborn in the process of waking up and all the different "faces" that go with that for a newborn.

Color Vs. Black and White

I often take photos and play with different color options. This way I can decide whether I like them better in color or black and white. Usually it's easy to choose, for one "pops" and the other doesn't.

Tristin

While I was photographing the other children that day, Tristin took off to be all boy. By the time it was his turn, he was just a little dirty and NOBODY had anything to clean him up with, so the end result was a black and white photo (makes the dirt less noticeable) of a boy in his true element and a lesson learned........ALWAYS carry baby-wipes for a quick clean up!!!
